Anyone who's experienced one of Gaia's live sets can vow for enjoying the ride on rhythms, blended with precision. Gaia, with her crew Jungle Recon, has created a following not only in the Midwest but across the US as well which is accredited to their passion, drive, and dedication.

Gaia's style can vary from dark, hard, and mood-driven drum and bass, to the smooth and minimal, or energetic dance floor sounds of tech-step, as well as old school, atmospheric jungle. Gaia continues to bring the darkness with her nu-skool break flavor and also has an abstract trip-hop and downtempo collection. Gaia has been billed at a wide variety of events, from regional Burning Man gatherings to small coffee shops, camp-outs, charity events, weeklies, and everything in-between. She has performed as both headliner and support, and has had the enjoyment of playing along-side prominent DJ's including Soul Slinger, Gein, Dj Craze, and Tester to name a few.

Gaia represents 1/4 of the crew Jungle Recon, along with Craveone, Zen2, and Big $paid. Gaia and Craveone host a weekly net radio show, broadcasted worldwide, Wednesday evenings 6-8pm CST on JungleTrain.net. Other affiliations include Street Kings Marketing and Foul Play Records.

Gaia's first nu-skool breaks mix comes correct with dark, dynamic bass lines and her signature seamless blends. This mix features recently released as well classic tracks by top nu-skool producers such as Deep Impact, Dylan Rhymes and many more.

midwestern farm life

It was all about the Deere this weekend, climbing on them, walking under them, and admiring their shiny coats at the Western Farm Show in Kansas City. It was not just all about John Deere, I suppose. They did have the biggest display in the building though, and nobody was shy about climbing aboard for a look around.  That was the intent after all.  Two huge halls contained a variety of technology and work equipment, while another two areas showcased an array of odds and ends in support of, and dedicated to everyday farm and ranch life, to include a few goats.

pbr built ford tough kc

We had not been out to the bull riding spectacle in quite awhile, and the upcoming Professional Bull Rider Built Ford Tough Championships seemed to be as good of a time as any.  It was in Kansas City, at the Sprint Center, and featured some of the best of the best. I took several photos throughout the night, and experimented with a feature I found on a small camera that I didn't know it had.  Slow motion video of these rides is just the thing to do.  I pulled all of those little videos together, along with the photos, laid in a track and created the YouTube below. view more photos from this event

skateboard art and tacos

Hunger demanded increasing attention today, while passing along 39th Street near KU Medical Center.  Noticing a few options not previously recognized, a spot for parking on the street quickly opened its arms.   Noon found not many spots.  Tiki Taco was the spot that had actually caught attention.  It turned out to be a super friendly and delectable choice, also offering some appealing and intriguing skateboard art displays.  This may just be the best place in the area to grab a quick mouthful of deliciousness.

warsaw bottle cap art

A journey down to the Benton County Courthouse for some business in Warsaw found this one-of-a-kind piece lingering about the inside the historic building.  Produced by Warsaw South students to show their respect for the US flag and all those that stand to protect the same.  The assemblage of a multitude of red, white, and blue plastic bottle caps is interesting, though does not indicate any sort of production date.

mardi gras 2002

We arrived in New Orleans just in time to meet up with friends at the Endymion Parade, led by Grand Marshall Jason Alexander. We took a stroll through the Quarter afterwards, to see what we could see. It was still a few days before Mardi Gras, but the party was starting to form. Some girls from Playboy, one of which appeared to be Pamela Anderson, were putting on an early show. Down the street further, some local were doing the same. Everything was as expected. Lundi Gras was pretty laid back. We really didn't go into the Quarter for much, except to drop off some equipment at Checkpoint for the Creaters of Habit gig that night. Our friend was playing a gig with his old krewe, and it was to bleed into the early hours of Mardi Gras morning. We did not get involved with that after the gig, but did peak around the corner into the Marigny for a moment, catching a little percussion improve and meeting random people needing a light.
