ugly bill

The same old Club Evos with a new name re-opened with a great opening act, Ugly Bill out of San Diego.  While it was not a huge crowd, several of the B.Boys and B.Girls made a showing and had plenty of floor space.

A hard and dark night of Techon featuring DJ Daniel Myer from Germany, with support from locals Solaris, Sacrifice, Phelyne & SvS. Synnister even joined in the fun later in the evening. The flyer indicates this was at Balanca's, but a last minute venue change pushed it over to Davey's.

4corners house party

Somehow, I ended up at this little random House Party way out south of Kansas City in Gardner, celebrating yet another 4/20. DJ Sydeburnz was spinning things up when I arrived, and Tony Markham took over just after that, laying down some great House tracks. I had to get back to the other side of the world just about the time Johnny Treymaine was taking over. It was late, and home was an hour and half away...

sin saturdays

The weekly event at Kabal turned out quite a crowd on the news that a very special guest might be dropping by for a visit.  The basement was packed when singer-songwriter, producer, activist, and actress Erykah Badu made the scene to get her groove on with several hundred adoring fans.

Erykah was part of the party for a couple of hours, as if she was just anyone else walking in off the street.  Of  course a lot of folks wanted photos with her, and she did have the escape of the VIP area.  It was definitely a something that many will never forget, and I was glad to be there and capture some photos of the fun!
