kcems 2002

For the first time in the history of the Kansas City SpiritFest, a dance music tent showcased some of the finest local talent for folks to dance the night away. POD led the way, with sound by Subsonic Sound, lighting by Dye Magic and visuals by VJ Ones.

There was not significant daytime activity at the tend, but the beats were there, and a few folks were dancing.  We didn't restrict ourselves to this one tent, but also took some time out to take in some of the other musical offerings and activities of SpiritFest.

The line up for KCEMS was really good though.  DJs for Friday May 31 included 1-800, cQuence and Phelyne with Nightbreed,  along with Michael Scott, DJ Just and the Good Times Records krew of Nitro, RJ Bass and Xan Lucero.

The line up for Saturday June 1 introduced Sarah Please,  DJ Lawrence, the Techno Justice League krewe featured n.9 vs Boie, Koncept, and Solaris and the guys from SpaceTribe followed in the early evening with Bill Pile, Steve Thorell and Paul DeMatteo, and the Simply Soul Syndicate closed out the night with music from David D, Joey C and Chris D.  The final day, featured sounds from AC, Radionic, Miss Michaela, Offtrack, DJ Maxx, Pat Nice and Ben fuller.

Photos are from Saturday, and include some from around the associated Spirit Festival.
