two heavy & the ladies labor day party

Image
Asking if I could pull a few folks together for a little Labor Day Party, DJ Two Heavy had an open night at the Empire Room, so I gladly obliged with a full set of local House divas to flank his late night set.  It was a fun and full night of music with DJs Pint Size, Shandi, Manders, DJ the DJ, Velvin, Fat Relic, and of course resident DJ Two Heavy.  This is likely the first of many future collaborations between with the big man, and we definitely look forward to working with him again. view more photos from this event

i benefit

Word got out on the street that a few folks were hosting a little fund-raising effort for a local band down in the West Bottoms.  Some of the local DJs put together some equipment and headed down, and so did I... and so did many others eventually.  It was a good time, and turns out the little party was being held at their practice place, which would likely host more of the same sort of events. view more photos from this event

Returning to Davey's, we dropped in on the monthly performance by the Inferno de L'Impur troupe for a little restraint, caging, restraint on the cage, and an oiled up half-naked game of Twister. view more photos from this event ... NSFW!

Image
The final night was finally here, and all the winners from the previous weekends, alongside their runner-up made one last appearance in their finest, then their own swim wear, and finally in swimwear provided by Hawaiian Tropic.  Only one would go on to the regional contest.  Shotgun Jackson provided his usual distractions on the microphone, with drinks and dancing, courtesy of beats from DJs Steve Thorell and Bill Pile, all around for those that stayed to the very end. view more photos from this event ... and if you want to see what led up to this date, the preliminaries ... Native Columbian Merly B, one of Miami's hottest Drum & Bass DJS (in more than one way) helped kick off a new weekly at The Hurricane.  Several other local DJs provided support to a nearly full house dancing until the late hours of the morning. view more photos from this event

miss hawaiian tropic international model search 2003 kc week 5

Image
Entering Week 5 of the contest, competition was getting tight as more and more desired to make name for themselves and their bodies.  This was the last round before the finals, when the winners of this and the last four would be brought back in front of Shotgun Jackson for a final decision.  Of course, after there was the usual drunken debauchery and dancing to beats provided by Bill Pile and Steve Thorell.   view more photos from this event

It was time to "pick up the pieces," and that is exactly what Kourtney did, picking up the slack for Todd and making her way out to the St Joseph area for a little rave in the field featuring Orlando Junglist Deception, along with support from Phat Boi, Subliminal, Telekinesis and Bob-O out of St Joseph, and Fitzroger and 627 from KC. All photos by Kourtney...   view more photos from this event

bill drummond's 50th birthday plastic ball

Image
Turning 50, all that Bill Drummond wanted was a little Plastic Ball with some of his favorite people decked out their appropriate finest.  That is exactly what he got too, and the whole place stretched and squeaked with some of the most creative and interesting plastic designs, along with music from a local band I don't recall. view more photos from this event
